Julie Ruvolo
Julie Ruvolo is Managing Director of Venture Capital at the Global Private Capital Association, the membership organization representing investors who manage over $2 trillion in assets across 130 countries.
She oversees the organization’s platform with venture and tech investors globally, including investor relationships and strategic partnerships, and leads its Global Tech Council.
She is a regular presenter and speaker at meetings on tech investment in global markets, including Kauffman Fellows and Milken Asia, and is widely cited in the financial press.
Julie also advises the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA), where she was Director of Venture Capital from 2016-2020, during a period of dramatic investment growth in the region. She launched and published the LatAm Venture Bulletin, the industry’s leading source of VC/tech news in the region, created the Latin American Tech Growth Coalition to align major corporates and investors, and hosted dozens of investor meetings and educational programs convening Latin American and global tech investors.
Julie also served on the advisory board of LatinSF, a public-private partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and the San Francisco Center for Economic Development to promote business between San Francisco and the Latin American region.
Prior to joining LAVCA, Julie covered tech and innovation in Brazil as a journalist for various titles including TechCrunch, Buzzfeed News, Bloomberg CityLab (formerly owned by The Atlantic), VICE News, and GOOD Magazine.
She received her B.A. in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University in 2004 with honors distinction for research conducted in Rio de Janeiro.
